WHAT ARE PERMANENT COSMETICS?
Permanent cosmetics is the tattooing of pigments into the facial tissue. This is a tattoo procedure, however it is done in a much softer, subtler way to mimic make-up.
WHAT IS THE PRODUCT THAT IS USED? IS IT INK OR DYE?
No. The product used is an inert iron-oxide pigment which is manufactured in the U.S. under strict regulations. Iron-oxide is what make-up is made of. If you can wear make-up with no problem chances are you can wear "permanent make-up".
DOES IT HURT?
It depends on your individual pain tolerance, health, condition of your skin, age etc. Most clients feel some discomfort but no severe pain. Your individual pain tolerance will be discussed during the consultation appointment.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
On average brows take approximately 20 minutes each to do. Eyeliner, 30 minutes for each eye top and bottom and lip liner 30-45 minutes, full lip color may take up to two hours.
WHAT IS THE HEALING TIME?
Healing time is approximately one week (7 days). During this time an anti-bacterial ointment will be given to you to be worn continuously on the treated area plus no make-up may be worn on the area during this time.
HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
Permanent cosmetics are exactly that, "permanent". The color may soften over the years but you will always have color there. On average clients enjoy having a "touch up" every 3-5 years to keep the color looking warm and fresh. Sun block is always recommended on the tattooed area to prevent future fading.
CAN I WEAR MAKE-UP OVER THE TATTOOED AREA?
Once healed, absolutely! Permanent cosmetics are not meant to REPLACE your conventional make-up but rather allow you to look your NATURAL best in the morning or at play. For more drama conventional cosmetics are recommended.
WHAT DOES THE PRICE INCLUDE?
The fee for these procedures includes: 1) The consultation 2) The procedure appointment 3) A final touch up appointment 4-6 weeks later.
HOW WILL I LOOK IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE PROCEDURE?
Brows: Will look slightly pink and swollen for approximately 2 hours after treatment. No off time is necessary.
Eyeliner: You may look as if you have been crying. Your eyes may be slightly red and swollen for approximately 2-4 hours. It its recommended that ice packs be applied to the treated area for the first 2 hours after procedure.
Lip liner: Slight swelling around lip line. No off time is necessary.
Full lip color: Lips will swell! It is necessary to take 2-3 days off for recovery.
